2019 Volleyball Premier League: NSCDC Sets Eye On Winning
The Assistant Coach of the NSCDC volleyball team, Dennis Eleri, yesterday said his team would work harder than before to win the 2019 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League.
Eleri told newsmen in Abuja that the team was ready to work harder because they have their sights set on winning many laurels this year.
Tidesports reports that both the male and female teams of the NSCDC would feature in the African Cup Volleyball Qualifiers at Cairo in Egypt in June.
Eleri said the teams were determined to make the NSCDC proud in the competitions they would feature in this year.
“We will resume camp next month to start preparations for our competitions, as we have a very busy calendar this year in volleyball.
“We will participate in the league, the African Cup qualifiers in both the male and female categories.
“So, we will fight well to succeed in the events (qualifiers) so as to qualify to feature in the main championship in October,’’ he said.
The coach said the teams tried so much to win in both the female and the male categories last year, and would now be ready to step up their game.
“We fought hard last year, but we could not emerge champions. But it was a good struggle, because we played the final matches of the two categories and we gave our opponents difficult moments,’’ he said.
Eleri added that the team would be more motivated to do better by the desires and aspirations of the players.
“Each player shares the same ambition to win this year’s league. We will resume camp next month to start preparation ahead of the league, and this desire is in line with that,’’ he said.
The coach said plans were underway to strengthen the team’s playing personnel and reinforce the team before the commencement of the league.
