NAMA To Support In Training NAF Personnel
The Managing Director, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Capt. Fola Akinkuotu, has pledged to support the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in the training of its critical manpower, especially in the area of air traffic control.
Akinkuotu disclosed this when he received instructors and students of the Department of Air Warfare of Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji at NAMA headquarters in Lagos, Tuesday. He noted that the safety and security of the nation’s air space depends largely on the capacity of critical personnel.
He said both the Nigerian Air Force and NAMA are critical to the safety and security of the nation’s air space, hence the collaborative effort in training and retraining of staff by both agencies over time.
The NAMA boss raterated that a synergy and cooperation between the civil and military authorities is necessary to create a robust capacity to manage the airspace for safe, secure, efficient and seamless air navigation.
Akinkuotu also commended the Nigerian Air Force for providing security around the agency’s navigational aids in airports across the country.
According to him, this has ensured that the nation’s critical assets are not vandalized or destroyed.
The leader of the team, Air Commodore Abubaka Liman, earlier in his speech, said their visit was to expose students of the college to the practical application of the basic management principles they acquire in the classroom so as to make comparison between typical military and civil organization performing complementary roles.
