Union Lauds LG Boss Over Salary Payment

The Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government council, Barr Benjamin Eke has been commended for his prompt payment of salary and consistent clearing of the healthcare premises.
The Chairman, Primary Health Care Union of the Local Government Area, Comrade Osi Charles made the commendation recently at the end of year and award ceremony of the union in Ahoada, headquarters of the Local Government Area.
Comrade Charles noted some of the achievements of his administration to include rendering and maintaining of the union account, purchase of 20 plastic chairs, restoration of the source of drinking water, replacement of toilet facilities among others.
He commended the retirees for their contribution towards the development and sustainability of health care delivery in various capacities.
The PHCU chairman regretted the death of three of their colleagues within this year; he prayed God to grant the departed Colleagues peace.
Earlier, chairman of the occasion Dr. Jane Amadi, Medical Official of Health represented by Local Immunisation Officer (LIO), Regina Dickson charged the retirees to be available any time they may be called upon. “ Retirement does not mean that your wealth of experiences have expired,” she added.
Responding on behalf of the recipients. Mr Ikechukwu Edward Uchibeke expressed gratitude for the gesture and advised serving health workers to engage themselves in other lucrative venture, so as not to depend solely on their salary which according to him could not cater for them well .
He said, that many failed because of lack of planning and over dependence on what they received at the end of the month.
