Bayelsa Receives N13.6bn Allocation For Nov
The Bayelsa State Government, has confirmed the receipt of N13.6 billion as its share of revenue allocation from the Federation Accounts for the month of November, 2018.
This followed the distribution of N812.762 billion as federal allocation for the month of November, 2018, between the federal, states and local government councils.
The technical sub-committee of the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) had, in a communiqué at the end of its December meeting in Abuja, put the statutory revenue received in November at N649.629 billion.
The state Commissioner for Finance, Maxwell Ebibai, declared Bayelsa’s share of the federal allocation in a statement in Yenagoa last Saturday.
“The Federation Accounts Allocation Committee meeting was held last Wednesday, December 19, 2018.
“The aggregate funds received by Bayelsa State Government amounts to N13.6 billion,” Ebibai said.
He disclosed that Governor Seriake Dickson had directed the Ministry of Finance to commence the immediate payment of December, 2018, salaries and allowances to all public servants in the employ of the government.
The finance commissioner said the governor also approved the payment of a special Christmas bonus to all categories of public servants, which would be paid according to cadre in appreciation for the support for the administration’s programmes.
He, however, did not declare how much the state government intended to pay the workers as special Christmas token.
Ebibai said the government would also clear the outstanding one month salary arrears of workers owed them since 2016 as soon as another tranche of the Paris Club debt refund was received by the state, not later than two weeks.
According to him, the government had constituted a high-powered committee to review all backlogs of gratuities, including those inherited from previous administrations.
