Faculties’ Relocation: RSU VC Storms Ahoada Campus
In a bid to comply with the Governor Nyesom Wike’s directive that two faculties of the state University, Humanities and Social Sciences be moved to Ahoada East Local Government Area, the Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University (RSU), Prof. Blessing Chimezie Didia has visited the abandoned site of the Ahoada Campus with a view to complying with the governor’s directive.
Speaking after inspecting the state of projects in the area, last Thursday, Prof. Didia said the proposed Ahoada Campus would take-off at the renovated Ahoada County High School, pending the completion of the campus’ permanent site.
He lauded the robust educational policies of the present government in the state, adding that the state government has provided the enabling environment that promoted qualitative teaching and learning in the state.
The RSU vice chancellor averred that the governor has made huge investment in the education sector in the state, adding that the Rivers State University has benefited immensely from the governor’s educational support.
He assured that his administration would ensure the realisation and smooth take off of Ahoada campus in line with the directive of the state governor.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector. Dr. Nwagor made the appeal when members of the Etche Ethnic Practicing Journalists (EEPJ) paid him a courtesy visit in Office in Port Harcourt.
