Club Budgets N26m For Services
The Rotary Club of Port Harcourt District 9141, has earmarked N26.2 million for its sevices for the Rotary year.
This was contained in a project support card made available to newsmen during the induction ceremony at the weekend, Port Harcourt.
According to the club, literary and basic education will gulp the sum of N6.5 million, water and sanitation N4.7 million, while diesease prevention / treatment is 1.5 million.
The rest are: community development and Economic empowerment N7.0 million, while the sum of N6.5 million was budgeted for peace and confict prevention / resolution.
The newly inducted president of the club for the 2018/2019 Rotary year, Rotarian Lucky Akhiwu told Journalists during the induction ceremony that the money will be realised from personal donations and contributions.
Akhiwu said that the club was committed to the realisation of its goal stressing that his executive was committed and dedicated to impact positively on communities across the state with the view to reducing the impact of poverty among the populace.
He charged the club members to continue to inspire and motivate development, stressing that their activities must continue to emancipate the less privileged from poverty.
Earlier, the outgone president of the club, Rotarian Ferdinand Banigo, said that projects ranging from health, education and economic empowerment were embarked upon in the outgone Rotary year.
He urged for the support of the members to the new executive.
