Beef Up Security At Worship Places – Bishop
Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor on Religious Matters, Bishop Winston T. Iwo has called for improved security around places of worship in the country.
Bishop Iwo said this in an interview with newsmen during the 16th South-South Prayer Conference organised by End Time Prophetic Prayer Network (EPPN) in Port Harcourt.
The cleric, who also condemned the recent killings in a church in Anambra State said that the incidence must not be swept under the carpet as proper investigation should be done to unravel the mystery behind the killings.
Bishop Iwo, who preached on the benefits of thanksgiving at the event urged Nigerians to appreciate God by giving Him thanks always.
He also enjoined members of the Network to thank God for sustaining the organisation for 21 years, stressing that the conference should offer them the opportunity to take stock of their achievements as well as plan ahead.
The General Overseer of End Time Prophetic Prayer Network (ETPN), Bishop Godswill E.D. Jumbo in his speech warned Christians in the country against allowing politics to affect their relationship with Christ.
Bishop said that the service of God must be taken seriously irrespective of political affiliation, stressing that the Kingdom of God will remain, while politics will fade away.
The clergyman also commended Governor Nyesom Wike for the level of infrastructural development recorded within the two years in office, adding that Rivers people are happy that the governor is fulfilling his promise to the people.
He, however, advised the governor to use the remaining part of his first term to empower the people.
Bishop Jumbo said that the organisation would continue to hold prayer sessions for the peace of the state and Nigeria.
