FAAN, Air Force Collaborate On Airports Security
The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in a bid to sustain adequate security at the airports, has renewed its commitment through enhanced collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force.
This position of FAAN on airport security was strengthened when the Director of Air Traffic Services of the Nigerian Ariforce Headquarters, Air Vice Marshall (AVM) Bello Garba, paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director /CEO of FAAN, Engineer Saleh Dunoma at the headquarters of FAAN in Lagos, recently.
Garba, who was accompanied by the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Commandant of the Nigerian Airforce, Wing Commander O.O. Okeniyi and other officers, commended FAAN for effective collaboration between the authority and the airforce.
He, however, noted the need for sustained synergy and continuous partnership between FAAN and Nigerian Airforce to ensure, secure and safe airport environment across the country, especially now that terrorism is on the increase, globally.
The Director of Finance and Accounts of the authority, Mrs Aboderin Adenike Esther who received the team on behalf of the MD/CEO, thanked the Nigerian Airforce for its commitment to ensuring watertight security at the nation’s airports.
She also expressed readiness of FAAN to continue to closely collaborate with NAF, through the provision of necessary logistics with a view to achieving sustained security at the airports in the country.
Aboderin also noted that FAAN was doing all within its power to provide necessary infrastructure and ensure adequate manpower training, while maintaining seamless operations that support the need for safe, secure and conducive airports across the country.
