Ake, Mentor To Many -Wike
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike says late Chief Godspower Ake was a mentor to most politicians of this generation in the state.
Speaking at the funeral ceremony of late Ake recently at Erema Town in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), Wike urged politicians to use the death of the late politician as a platform for unity.
Wike was represented by the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Sir Kenneth Kobani, as he eulogised the late Ake as a worthy Rivers son who was committed to the development of the state.
He said: “All notable politicians in Rivers State should work towards the growth of peace in the state as a mark of honour to the late Chief Ake”.
The governor stressed that his administration remains committed to the development of all parts of the state as part of the actualisation of the New Rivers Vision.
Noting that already all the senatorial districts of the state are feeling the impact of the comprehensive development projects and programmes of his administration Wike assured that all parts of the state will get attention.
“No section of the state will be left behind in our development agenda for Rivers State”, he said.
He, therefore, urged all stakeholders to support his administration’s amnesty programme which is already yielding fruits across the state.
