Wike Tasks Muslims On Peace, Unity
Muslims have been en
joined to continue to pray for the unity, peace and progress of the country.
The Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike made the call at a Jumai service to mark the 56th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria held at the Airforce payer ground, Port Harcourt last Friday.
Wike, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Matters, Barr.Aribiton Okiri said as Nigerians recognized the efforts of the past heroes in the upliftment of the country they should at all times ensure the peace and progress of the nation.
According to him, the state government is passionate about sustainable development as well as creating investment-friendly environment, stressing government would continue to give priority to the well-being of its citizens.
He expressed the commitment of the government in partnering with religious organisations to make the society a better place for all and sundry.
He said that since the inception of the present administration in the state, all sectors of the economy had been given adequate attention so as to make life more meaningful for the people.
