Monarch Makes Case For Less-Privileged
Against the backdrop
of the groaning economic condition in the country, a traditional ruler in the state, Chief Kemakolom Nwanuo has called on the rich in the country to extend charity to the less- privileged in the society.
Chief Kemakolom who is the traditional Prime Minister of the Otube Community in Etche Local Government Area of the state stated this during the final burial rites of his late father, Pa Jonas Nwanuo Igbo at his home-town recently.
The monarch said, the society would be better placed if the people imbibed the spirit of love as well as giving, such attitude would bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.
According to him, his late father was noted for his philanthropic gestures, he inherited that attribute from his late father.
He urged those enthrusted with power in the society to remember the less-privileged and assist them, saying ‘God Almighty loves a cheerful giver’.
He used the opportunity to thank the people of the community for their support during the final burial rites of his late father who died 15 years ago.
The climax of the event was the slaughtering of one cow which was witnessed by the chiefs and elders of the community.
