OPM Rehabilitates Wife Of Kidnapped Police Officer
Omega Power Ministries
(OPM) has assumed responsibility for the welfare of a pregnant woman, Nkem Opuene whose husband was among the five police officers that were kidnapped while on official assignment at Okujagu-Ama in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
The General Overseer of OPM, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere stated this during a church service in Port Harcourt recently.
He appealed to Nigerians to imbibe the habit of supporting security agents for their sacrificial duty to the nation, saying, the hazards associated with their job cannot be quantified in monetary teams.
“These people (security agents) will abandone their families and risk their lives at the expense of our comfort. They deserve to be encouraged at all levels,” he said.
Mrs Opuene who narrated how she got in touch with the General Overseer of OPM said “my husband was kidnapped over two months ago and all efforts made towards knowing his whereabouts proved abortive”.
“Gradually, life became unbearable, especially under my present condition. My two children dropped out of school and I started stressing myself by hawking the popular zobo and kunu drinks which can hardly sustain the family”.
“My church and even the police authorities that my husband was working for before the attack have refused to come to my aid”.
“One day, while watching a telecast, I suddenly sighted the man of God, apostle Chibuzor with his number displayed on the screen. I picked up my phone with tears in my eyes and called him and narrated my predicaments to him. He said that I should see him in the church on Sunday during service which I did”. Upon sighting my pregnancy, he showed compassion on me and directed that my maternity bill till delivery, my children’s educational expenses shall henceforth be taken over by the church and I should be given sufficient amount of money to start a good business to sustain myself and my family while an accommodation shall be provided for me at OPM Free Housing Estate”, she said.
