Rivers Basketballers Set For Laurels At NYSF, NSF

State female basketball team, Dagogo Okumgba said that the Junior (U-17) and state female team is now set to win laurels for the state in the forthcoming National Youth Sports festival (NYSF) and the 19th National Sports festival (NSF) later this year.
The competitions are expected to hold later this year in Kwara and Cross Rivers State respectively.
Coach Okumgba made this known Tuesday in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the Championships which are scheduled to hold in August and November this year has kept the teams preparing for the tasks ahead to enable them overcome hurdles associated with the competitions.
He also said that both teams are working assiduously to ensure success when the competition eventually gets underway.
“We are sure of achieving our target of winning medals for the state as the athletes are in high spirit and are determined to do their level best in getting the desired result”, he said.
However, the female basketballers now awaits to go into camping to further fortify their earlier made preparations improve their skills, techniques and as well enhance their performance.
