Monarch Tasks PHED On Power Supply

tricity Distribution Company (PHEDE), has been advised to ensure steady power supply to the people to complement the state government’s target of achieving its vision of new Rivers State.
In an interview with newsmen Wednesday in Port Harcourt, the paramount Ruler Nye Nwe Eli Rumuogba in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, HRH (EZE) Temple N. Ejekwu, said PHED must provide steady electricity supply to the people of the state.
He said steady electricity supply all over the world brought development and ensure that the economy improved due to 24 hours power supply across.
Dr Ejekwu, who is also the Eze Ogba Iji-nu-ede, noted that erratic power supply would not in any form encourage development, therefore there is the need to improve supply.
According to him, adequate power provision would enable those in the hospability sector to operate with greater efficiency and profits.
He said that steady power supply would enable business to spring up within the various quarters of the state thereby, encouraging an all round improved economy.
The monarch, who also is a legal icon, noted that 24 hours power supply was a huge target for investors, who are only ready to invest where they will make profits.
He further explained that erratic power supply was one of the reasons why the rate of unemployment keeps rising in the country, saying that the Federal Government step up actions in that direction.
He said that the present administration has the people’s interest at heart, through its various people- oriented policies. He also lamented the harah economic situation of the country, stressing that palliatives measures must be put in place, in order to assuage the plight of the people.
