Rivers CJ Tasks Young Lawyers On Good Conduct
The Chief Judge of
Rivers State Hon. Justice Iyayi Lamikanra, has advised Young lawyers in the state to be decorous in the discharge of their duties.
The Chief Judge stated this at a one day seminar of the young Lawyers Forum in Port Harcourt recently.
Represented at the event by Hon. Justice Teetito, she charged the young lawyers to overcome the challenges facing them.
In his keynote address, the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Warri, Mr. Jero Aikpokpo-Martins advised the young lawyers to be hardworking and expressed confidence that the seminar would help them to overcome some of their challenges in the profession.
He stated that because of the harsh economy of the country younger lawyers should engage themselves in other meaningful ventures and also urged them to uphold their code of conduct at all times.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Young Lawyers Forum, Port Harcourt Branch, Bethel Chisor Kejeh said the theme of the seminar was apt considering the fact that lawyers were increasingly deviating from the core values of the profession.
He said the Young Lawyers Forum was basically a platform for young lawyers in Port Harcourt to articulate on issues relating to their welfare and professional development, challenges, understanding and reflecting on solutions proffered as associated with the young lawyers in the legal profession”.
