Islamic Council Pledges Support For Wike
The Nigerian Supreme
Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Rivers State branch, has enjoined the State Governor, Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike to remain steadfast, just and use the Allah-granted opportunity to initiate genuine policies and programmes that will reduce the hardship on the people.
The council in a statement signed by its Rivers State leader and Vice President General, Alhaji Nasir Awhelebe Uhor pledged the support of the State Islamic Supreme Council for Governor Wike and his government.
According to Alhaji Uhor, “We welcome your all-inclusive government in which you called your opponents to join hands with you in making the state move forward.’
“We applaud your avowed commitment to accommodating all in the state and your invitation to your opponents to join hands with you to enable your government to deliver and serve the state better,” he said.
The organisation congratulated Governor Wike on the validation of his election by the Supreme Court and hailed the apex court for taking the bold step to restore the people’s confidence in the judiciary.
Alhaji Uhor noted that Wike’s performance in the past eight months had endeared him to the people of Rivers State, and called for support to enable him do more.
He advised the state chief executive to settle down and unfold his good policies and programmes for the people of the state.
