Go Round/SWAN Athletics Meet Excites Council Boss

The recently con
cluded Go Round/ Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Rivers  State  chapter Under-17 Secondary Schools Athletic Championship has been described as a huge success it has fished out budding talents that could make the state and their various local government areas proud.
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Mr Isaac Ibiberebupakabo made the assertion in an interview with Sports Journalists at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium Port Harcourt recently.
Ibiberebupakabo said the championship has exposed hidden talents that have been rusting  away in the local communities, stressing that if groomed very well, they could win laurels for the state at national and international championships.
He noted that the skills of some of the athletes were of international standard but lacked exposure and touch of modern technics.
According to him, the sole sponsor, Bro Felix Obuah, had by the sponsorship proved to the world that he has love and passion for sports and its development in the state and in the country enjoining him to keep up the flag flying saying that the sky is his limit.
The Ogu/Bolo Local Government boss hailed his courage and commitment, and prayed God to give him more enablement to continue with the sponsorship.
Ibiberebupakabo also commended members of SWAN for their efforts and called on companies, corporate organizations and spirited individuals to borrow a leaf and help government develop sports at the grassroot and national level.
On the performance of the team from his Local Government, the Chairman promised that they would go back to the drawing board  and strategies for future championship
