Delta: Three Die In Multiple Accidents
Multiple accidents
that occurred at the Asaba axis of Benin-Onisha expressway have claimed three lives.
Our correspondent reports that eight others sustained injuries in the crash which involved five vehicles; one truck, two tippers and two commercial buses.
Delta State sector commander of Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr Rindom Kuven who confirmed the accident said corpses had been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), while those injured had been given treatment.
Kuven attributed the accident to dangerous driving and over-speeding on the part of the truck driver.
He explained that the ill-fated truck was coming from the Onisha end and was struggling for space with the tipper noting that in the process the truck crashed against the pillars serving as road divider in the dual carriage way.
According to him, as a result the truck driver lost control and further crashed into an oncoming commercial bus and two other vehicles.
