Artiste Harps On Gospel Music
An upcoming gospel ar
tiste, Ikechuwu Mark has called on the people of Nigeria to recognise gospel music is an instrument for developing the society.
Mark who made this call at his album launch titled “Omo Jesu in Port Harcourt” said gospel music was meant to be used to win souls for God, which in turn would help transform the society.
He also said that most of Nigerian circular musicians discovered their talents in the church, adding that most of them were members of their church choirs.
“It is so unfortunate that most of our famous musicians started in the church and ended in the world, forgetting their foundation. As a gospel artiste, I don’t intend to deviate from what God has called me to do, just to seek fame and wealth” he said.
He also urged all gospel musicians to be focused on their calling adding that the best way to exercise their talent was to use it to glorify God, who gave them the talent.
Also speaking the Senior Pastor of Builders Ville International Church, Pastor Brighten Idaminabo said “the major challenge facing most upcoming artiste is that everybody wants to be a star, which should be least of their focus.”
He urged upcoming artiste to be focused and committed to producing a worthy work of art, that would be a blessing to people and the society.
“As long as you are committed to what you desire, there is no height that you can’t reach. Popularity should not be the main focus of any one that wants to venture into music, but what they should be aiming at is how to be a blessing to the society,” he said.
