In preparation for the
forthcoming football season and to avoid distractions, Sharks football club of Port Harcourt has left its base to Ijebu Ode for close camping.
The management of the club has expressed confidence that the team would clinch one of the continental tickets, saying that both technical crew and players have exhibited high level of commitment and determination to achieve set goals.
The media officer of the club, Peter Abaje stated these in a telephone interview with Tidesports yesterday, adding that players were in intensive training session.
“ As I speak the entire club is optimistic that Sharks will get one of the continental tickets, because calibre of players in the team both old and new have the credentials and potentials to achieve positive results” Abaje said.
According to the media officer, that can only be achievable if the players are given good atmosphere.
“I know we have good players to give us a continental ticket, but that can only be achievable if the players are given conducive atmosphere. Conducive atmosphere includes, salaries, bonuses and good welfare,” he stated.
Abaje said the team has learnt from its mistakes and will address the grey areas before the end of the camping exercise, noting that the coach of the team Gbenga Ogunbote has all it takes to make the state proud through the club.
