Speculations are rife
that El Kanemi Warriors coach Salisu Yusuf may head back to champions Kano Pillars come the new season.
Yusuf exited Pillars two seasons ago to join Enyimba and this past season he ensured El Kanemi did not go down to the lower league.
A source informed AfricanFootball.com: “Pillars are talking to Salisu, who has indicated interest in returning to the club because he wants to be involved in international football again as Pillars will feature in next year’s CAF Champions League.”
It was also reported that El Kanemi have not fulfilled all the financial promises they made to Yusuf before he joined them.
The coach is still owed over four million Naira by his previous club Enyimba.
Officials though have maintained they will stick with veteran coach Okey Emordi, who led Pillars to a third straight league championship earlier this month, Mohammed Baba Ganaru, who led Pillars to win the league back-to-back two seasons, sensationally dumped the Kano club for Nasarawa United before the start of the just concluded campaign.
