Association Honours JTF Commander, Monarch In PH, ’Morrow
The commander of the
Joint Task Force, Operation Pulo Shield, Commodore Ime Henry Ekpa and a traditional ruler of Ikuru Town, King Aaron Miller Ikuru will be honoured in Port Harcourt tomorrow by the Regina Coeli College, Essene Old Boys Association (RECCOBA);
Ekpa is being honoured for professional excellence in the military while Ikuru would be honoured for leadership and community development.
Chairman of the Rivers State branch of RECCOBA, Six Finomo Edubio said in a statement in Port Harcourt last Monday that the two members will receive the Distinguished Old Boy Award at the 2014 annual general meeting of the association which holds at the Delta Hotels, Port Harcourt tomorrow.
The event which will also feature a lecture with theme: “The Role of Old Boys Association in the Development of Their Alma Mater And Members” will be concluded with a thanksgiving service at the Corpus Christi Cathedral, Port Harcourt on Sunday.
Personalities expected at the event include, the Catholic Bishops of Port Harcourt and Uyo Dioceses, Most Rev Camillus Udoh and Most Rev John Ayah respectively, the Principal of Regina Coeli College, Essene, Rev Fr Emmanuel S. Udoh and the first student of the school at its inception in 1956, Prof C.T. John.
Also expected at the re-union meeting are Dr Davies Ibiamu-Ikanya, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) Rivers State, Prof (Monsignor) S.I. Udoidem and Chief Francis Bruce among other RECCOBA members.
Regina Coeli College is a catholic missionary college established in Essene in present day Ikot Abasi Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State.
