Enyimba Targets Away Victory To Boost Title Hopes
Enyimba skipper
Chinedu Udoji has said that an away win would greatly boost their title hopes this season.
The six-time league kings are third on the table with 51 points from 32 matches, just four points behind league leaders Kano Pillars.
”We only need an away win now and we will be in serious contention for the league title again,” said Udoji, who scored an own goal in a 5-2 drubbing of Sharks recently.
”This is a tight race for the title and so any of the contending clubs could cash in on a slip by a rival to become champions.”
Enyimba has so far played 15 away matches, drawn seven and lost eight, which means they are yet to win away from Aba this season.
Their remaining away games are at Gombe, Kaduna United, Nembe City and Dolphins.
Incidentally their final game of the season is at home against league leaders Pillars.
Enyimba also faces Dolphins in the final of this year’s Federation Cup, which has yet to get a date, but Udoji has insisted all their focus is on the league championship.
