Chairman Tasks Committee On Revenue Management

The caretaker committee chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Dr Lawrence Chukwu has urged the newly constituted 8-man special Revenue Committee in Woji community to live up to their mandate of streamlining the revenue base of the community.
The CTC chairman who made this known while inaugurating the 8 man revenue committee recently, commended the stakeholders in the community over their vision on enterprise development in the community, stressing the need for the people to work towards sustainable peace in the area.
In his post inauguration remark, the chairman of the 8-man committee Chief Dr Adele Ejekwu thanked the community for giving him the opportunity to serve as chairman of the committee.
He said the  committee was  unanimously formed by chiefs, Elders and Owhor holders of the community with a mandate to streamline the revenue base of the community which was previously  exploited by few individuals.
Chief Ejekwu pledged the commitment of the committee in the effective discharge of its mandate through effective administration and management of the resources of the community.
He also called on the people of Woji to give the  committee the necessary support to carry out their duties successfully.
Some stakeholders of the community who spoke with our correspondent expressed confident in the ability of the committee to resuscitate the revenue base of the community.
