Kwara U-13 Team Victory Excites Director Milo Championship
The Kwara Director
of Sports, Coach Tunde Kazeem, has commended the state’s U-13 football team for its resilience and determination that made them to win the Milo U-13 Africa Soccer Championship.
Kazeem made the commendation in Ilorin in an interview with newsmen while reacting to the team’s victory in the competition in Lagos.
The director praised the players and technical crew for doing the state and the nation proud during the championship.
Kazeem also commended the state government for its support to sports development, especially at the grassroots level and urged it not to relent.
The team represented Nigeria in the championship having qualified last year during the National School Sports Festival held in Ilorin.
The Kwara U-13 team beat their Ghanaian counterparts 5-4 on penalties in the final played after the full time ended 3-3 last Saturday.
Four Countries Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and Kenya took part in the championship.
