Counsel Canvasses Truce In NBA
A Port Harcourt based le
gal practitioner and human rights of crusader, Barr. Endurance Akpelu, has called for truce between the warring factions of the Bar following the decision of the court on the appointment of the Chief Judge of Rivers State.
Barr. Akpelu, who stated this in Port Harcourt at the weekend, noted that it was proper to bury the hatchet as a substantive chief judge had been appointed.
He said that the interest of justice delivery must not be jeopardised at the altar of wranglings.
The Port Harcourt lawyer said that the NBA should always remain in unity for the development of our democracy and justice.
Barr. Akpelu pointed out that the court was the last hope for the common man, and noted that the decisions and judgements of the court ought to be respected.
He said that justice delivery would be hindered if the wrangling were allowed to continue. The counsel urged all and sundry to respect the rule of law and accord Justice Peter Agumagu the necessary support to succeed.
