Corruption Is A Spiritual Cancer – Cleric
A Port Harcourt-based
man of God, Pastor Joshua Elkenah has advised Nigerians to look beyond the physical while seeking for solutions to endemic corruption ravaging both public and private sectors of the country.
Pastor Elkenah of Centre For World Revival Church, Port Harcourt said corruption is a reflection of the decay in the present society, describing it as a spiritual cancer.
According to him, most of the politicians that rape our nations go to churches and mosques yet they tell lies, adding that men of God who run to politicians for contract awards do not vindicate God.
Pastor Elkenah who blamed the societal decay on the churches insisted that until the spiritual foundation is tackled the nation would continue to recycle corrupt leaders.
He was speaking theme “Bringing Down the Glory of God” during the 9th anniversary celebration of the church.
He explained that the church provided street light in the area and embarked on massive sanitation exercise in the area as part of its proactive steps towards fulfilling its social responsibilities to the host communities.
Highlight of the 9th anniversary celebration was the dedication of the church building.
“When you dedicate your land, houses, children and other valuable properties to God, you protect them from Satan”, he said.
