Osun Plans Yam Flour Factory
The Government of
Osun said last Tuesday that it would establish a yam flour factory in Ife-Odan, Ejigbo Local Government Area.
The Acting General Manager of the State Agriculture Development Corporation (OSSADEC), Mr Kayode Olanipekun,who made this known in Osogbo, said that the factory would enhance food sufficiency.
Olanipekun, explained at a meeting with stakeholders that the state government had spent a lot of money on agricultural programmes in order to make life easier for farmers.
According to him, the government will continue to encourage expansion in agriculture practice to boost food production.
The manager advised farmers to submit their requests to the corporation so as to benefit from facilities such as land clearing, ploughing, harrowing and ridging.
He also reminded those who had benefitted from the government’s interest-free loan to pay back as at when due, to enable others to benefit.
