Fashola Charges Pilots, Aeronautic Engineers On Safety

Fashola of Lagos State on Monday appealed to pilots and aeronautic engineers to collaborate in a bid to ensure safety in the nation’s airspace.
The governor made the plea when , the Air Officer, Logistics Command of the Nigerian Air Force,AVM Monday Morgan paid him a courtesy call at Government House, Alausa, Ikeja.
“If certain safety measures are not kept, it adds to the index of casualties we have to deal with. “There must be uncompromising standards about safety. As pilots, you must ensure that your aircraft is in good condition before you fly.
“We all know that aircraft is a mechanical device and a mechanical device can fail,’’ Fashola said.
According to the governor, the safety of air passengers is the responsibility of the key stakeholders in the industry.
Earlier, Morgan assured the governor that the Air Force would give the necessary logistic support to the state government on safety.
“I assure you that we will stand by you anytime and we will like to be part of the development trends in state,” he said.
