Woman In Court Over Trespass, Intimidation
The police last
Thursday arraigned a businesswoman, Temitope Olayisade, 42, of Oasis International College Estate, Lugbe, at a Wuse Zone II Magistrate Court, Abuja, for alleged criminal trespass and intimidation.
The police prosecutor, Mr Elijah Jeremiah, told the court that Mr Popoola Olu of Gwarinpa Estate Abuja, reported the case at the Lugbe Police Station.
Elijah said the complainant reported to the police that the accused, sometime in December 2012, occupied his house at the Oasis College Estate, Lugbe, illegally without her consent.
The prosecutor said the complainant, on Sept. 6, went to the apartment and removed the two doors and part of the roof.
He told the court that the complainant reported to the police that following his action, the accused threatened his life through text messages.
The prosecutor, ASP Godwin Eze, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Aug. 31 at Ojo at 4.20 a.m.
He said the accused broke into a shop located at No. 22, PPL Road, Ojo, and stole the generators valued at N43, 000, property of one Mr Adebolu Famadewu.
He said the offences contravened Sections 285, 305 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Section 305 provides seven years imprisonment for offenders.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs Adenike Shonubi, granted the two men bail in the sum of N40, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
The case was adjourned to October 14 for trial.
