Man United Situation Worries Nigerian Fans
Man United fans across the
country have reacted to Sunday’s humiliating defeat of the team by its rivals Man City last Sunday.
A brace from Sergoo Aguerro as well as a goal each from Yaya Toure and Semir Nasri made sure that Wayne Rooneg’s goal was of no effect.
Reacting to the defeat, Agana Keloin, a Man United fan who based in Aba, Abia Stte expressed optimism that the team; would bounce back from the set back adding that the defeat was one of those moments top teams undergo on their way to glory.
“You win some, draw some, lose some, you cant win all” Agana said.
He also advised that “United need to strengthen a lot in January pointing out that Coentrao or Baines and a Central midfielder in the mould of Schweinsteiger or Iniesta to command the midfield”, he said.
In his reaction Okoli Henry, a die hard United Jan is of the view that having played three top teams in their first five games, the team now has chances of winning streak that would see them topple the teams currently ahead of them.
“Why do people forget that United have played Chelsea, Liverpool and City in their first five games? Now we can go on a winning run that will boost our confidence and then see us at the top of the league table”, Okoli explained.
On his part, Kalu Robert, another fan expressed fear on the ability of the present players of team to fight for silverware this season, saying that the players lacked determination and cohesion.
According to him, the team is riddled with poor defensive plays and poor attacking threat from the striker of the team in previous seasons.
Also speaking, Idoko Kingsley an Enugu based fan demanded that Man United should recall Sir back Ferguson as present Coach, David Moyes Secus unable to handle the pressure associated with handling a world class team.
“Sir, should called back or better still a top class Coach like Gius Hiddink, Rilkaard among others should be assigned to handle the team as Moyes do not have what it takes to handle the pressure associated with handling the “big four” in the premier league.

Iwobi Optimistic On S’Eagles Qualification
Iwobi spoke to Tidesports source ahead of Nigeria’s crunch playoff semi-final against Gabon on Thursday, November 13, in Rabat, Morocco.
The 28-year-old was reacting to Nigeria’s shaky World Cup qualifying campaign that saw the Eagles finish second in Group C behind South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
“We’ve managed to rescue ourselves from the dead,” Iwobi told Tidesports source.
We know we have the players and the abilities to compete against any other country in the world.”
The Fulham star pointed to Nigeria’s star power, highlighting African Footballer of the Year winners Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen as proof of the squad’s quality.
“We have last year’s African best player (Ademola Lookman), the year before that (Victor Osimhen),” he said.
“It’ll be a shame if we don’t make it, but we have a lot of confidence. We just have to prove it to ourselves.”
Nigeria’s path to the United States, Canada and Mexico has been turbulent, with two coaches departing during the early stages of qualifying before Éric Chelle steadied the ship to steer the Super Eagles into November’s CAF playoffs.
Four nations from the continent – Nigeria, Cameroon, DR Congo and Gabon – will vie for a solitary spot to compete in next March’s inter-confederation playoffs, with a view to joining the already nine qualified African nations at the Finals.
It would mark Iwobi’s second appearance at the World Cup Finals and the Super Eagles’ first since the 2018 edition of the competition.
Back then, Iwobi featured in all three games as Nigeria was knocked out in the group stage.
