Council Earmarks N25m For Ramadan Feeding
Dala Local Government
Council in Kano State is to spend N25 million on the feeding of the needy during the Ramadan.
The Interim Management Officer of the Council, Alhaji Rabi’u Garin-Danga, made the plan known in Kano, Saturday, in an interview with newsmen.
He said the council had established 20 feeding centres in the area for the effective implementation of the project, aimed at assisting less privileged persons during the Ramadan.
He said that the local government had appointed five persons in each of the 20 centres to supervise the implementation of the project.
“We have also set up a committee comprising party leaders and some officials of the council to monitor the exercise in the entire area.
“The Monitoring Committee is expected to give progress report on daily basis to the council,’’ he said.
Garin-Danga urged members of the committee charged with the responsibility of providing free food for the people to discharge their duty with the fear of God.
He also appealed to the people in the area to cooperate with the officials to ensure the success of the exercise.
