The Tide Staff Appointed JAP Coordinator For S’South
A staff of The Tide newspapers, Mrs Sogbeba Dokubo is the
new South South Zone Coordinator of the Journalists Alliance for the prevention
of mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS (JAP).
Mrs. Dokubo was nominated for the position last Friday at
the end of the 2012 meeting of the national body of JAP in Calabar, Cross River
Capital.
Before her appointment, Mrs. Dokubo was the Rivers State Coordinator, a position,
which according to the national coordinator, Sola Ogundipe, handled effectively
“she handled efficiently for many years, leading to her elevation.”
The national JAP boss explained, while appointing her at the
end of the three-day meeting, that “for sometime now, Mrs. Dokubo had virtually
been serving both as Rivers State Coordinator and South-South Zonal
Coordinator.”
Following her elevation, Mr. Soibi Max-Alalibo of The Tide
newspaper has been appointed as the River State coordinator.
Mr. Ogundipe charged the duo to continue to work together,
saying that the Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV/AIDS”
is one course Jap must pursue until it is reduced to its barest minimum.”
In her acceptance speech, Mrs Dokubo promised to carry out
her responsibilities more effectively.
She called on members to work hard if the aspirations of JAP
must be achieved.
On his part, Mr Max-Alalibo also pledged to do everything possible
to enhance the activities of JPA in Rivers State and Nigeria at large.”
Until his appointment, Mr Max-Alalibo had been the secretary
of JPA in Rivers State.
