Dickson Appoints Physically-Challenged Persons As Aides
Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson has approved the appointments of three
physically-challenged persons as his Special Assistants.
The appointments are contained in a statement signed by the
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Daniel Iworiso-Markson.
This followed a protest by physically-challenged persons,
who barricaded the Tombia Roundabout
over alleged government negligence to their plights.
Those appointed are: Mr Ekpemekumo Major-Doutimiari, Mr
Napoleon Azeke and Mr Itekesi Amangala, as the governor’s special assistants
for West, Central and East senatorial districts respectively.
Dickson added that the appointees would coordinate the
activities of physically-challenged persons in their senatorial zones.
According to the chief
press secretary, the appointments were with immediate effect.
The physically-challenged persons in their protest called
for the appointment of one of them as
senior special assistant to the governor and the provision of
employment and accommodation, among others.
