NPA Pledges commitment to President’s Transformation Agenda
The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Alhaji Omar Suleimon, has said that the organisation would contribute its quota to the success of Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.
He made the promise at the investiture ceremony of Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) in Lagos last Thursday.
Suleimon also said that authority would work with terminal operators to solve problems in the maritime industry.
The managing director, who is one of the two new patrons, advised the association to highlight in their reports the new modalities designed by NPA to achieve progress in the maritime industry.
The other patron, Dr Taiwo Afolabi, who is the Executive Vice Chairman of SIFAX Group, assured of his commitment to the development of the maritime industry.
He promised that he would not fail the association and pledged to fulfil his obligations to MARAN.
MARAN President, Bolaji Akinola, described the new patrons as gentlemen and role models of the society and urged them to add value to MARAN.
Akinola said that the investiture of Suleimon and Afolabi, as the patrons, was in line with the provisions of the association’s constitution.
“MARAN, 24 years after its establishment, has rightly earned its pips as a major stakeholders in the maritime industry, proving its mettle as the umbrella body of core maritime journalism,” Akinola said.
