Commercial Flights Resume At Akanu Ibiam Airport
Commercial flights are to resume on Wednesday at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, after it was closed for rehabilitation, the Airport Manager, Mr Chuma Nwobi, has said.
Agency reports indicate that the airport was closed a month ago to install runway facilities in line with current standards.
Nwobi told newsmen in Enugu on Tuesday that work was still ongoing at the airport but that it would not affect flight operations at the airport.
He called on airlines to schedule their flights to Enugu.
“We are encouraging all airlines to resume flight operations at the airport; and we are ready for them,’’ he said.
