Ban On Tinted Glass Still Exists- Police PRO
Motorists in Rivers State have been reminded that the ban on indiscriminate use of tinted glasses and blasting of siren by unauthorised persons is still in force.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Rivers State Police Command, Mr. Ben Ugbuegbulam dropped the hint during a telephone interview with The Tide Transport correspondent in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Mr. Ugbuegbulam said the ban still existed and warned such drivers to desist and obey the order.
He said although he had not seen such vehicles but warned that any one caught would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
According to him, there are certain categories of persons that were authorised by government to use tinted glasses on their vehicles for security reasons and even siren, stressing that the law is no respecter of anybody, no matter how highly placed.
I am not aware that some private cars use siren on the road but I know that the ban still exist, I therefore appeal to such motorists to comply forthwith to avoid embarrassment.
Meanwhile, some drivers with tinted glasses who spoke with The Tide correspondent on anonymity however said they were not aware of such order in the state.
