NLC To Establish Research Centres In States
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said in Abuja on Monday that it would establish research centres in the 36 states.
NLCPresident Abdulwaheed Omar told newsmen that the centres would enable the congress to have the exact revenue profile of all states and other major areas of expectation.
Omarsaid that it had been difficult to get the exact figures of the total revenue given to each state.
“People are quoting figures that are not correct, so we want to come up with research centres in the states that will give the report and give us exactly the way it is. ‘
He said the centre would provide NLC with information on what the expenditure of government was in terms of salaries of core civil servants.
Omar said the study would show: “what is the expenditure of state governors in terms of salaries and allowances of political appointees
“What is the expenditure of government in terms of security, what is the expenditure of government in terms of running government houses.
“We are going to do that and believe me, eventually try to publish this report for everybody to see so that we will justify our effort.”
