NULGE Vows To Defend Workers’Welfare

The Rivers StateExecutive Council of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), has warned local government branch chairmen of the union against compromising the interest of their workers.

The State President of the Union, Barrister Princewill Ajinwon, who said this while swearing in ten branch chairmen of the union in Port Harcourt also said that the union would not hesitate to deal with any of them who jettisoned the interest of workers for their personal interest.

Barrister Ajinwon also urged the new chairmen to be exemplary in their conduct pointing out that as respective leaders in their different local areas, their action would determine the success of the union in their areas.

He also warned them against absenting themselves from their local government area offices and stressed the need for them to always  brief their members on the activities of the union.

Barrister Ajinwon, who assured the chairmen of support however, said that the union would put in places processes towards election in the remaining 13 local Government Areas.

Speaking on behalf of the newly sworn in Chairmen, the NULGE Chairman in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area Comrade Clifford Nyemachi said that the new Chairmen would work accordance with the constitution of the union.

The branch Chairmen sworn in are those of Andoni, Oyigbo, Ahoada West, Bonny, Port Harcourt City, Okrika, Degema, Emohua, Etche and Obio/Akpor.
