Amaechi Gets Kudos Over Road Construction
The Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has continued to receive commendation over road construction in the state.
The latest of such commendations came from Nye Nwe Eli Rukpokwu HRH (Eze) Collins C. Ogwu III while chatting with newsmen at his palace on Monday.
Eze Ogwu, said the governors determination to create more roads was a plus in his plans to ease traffic congestion in the state.
According to him, roads construction was among the projects that can encourage development in a state as it eases movement.
The Monarch also explained that the heavy traffic that obstructs movement in the state would soon be a thing of the past upon the completion of roads in the state.
Ogwu who was full of praises for the government’s completion of some projects in the last tenure, noted that it was pertinent to draw the governor’s attention in his second term, on the need to deliver more people-oriented projects to Rivers people.
About the expansion of Eneka/Rukpokwu link roads, he said it was a new dawn for road users in the area, adding that it had eased off the heavy road traffic in the area.
Furthermore, he explained that motorists can now ply the route without much qualms as they enjoy encouraging patronage from commuters in the area.
He has also advised the governor to consider more rural areas in the state in order to boast transportation at the grassroots level.
Earlier, he had lauded the former Commissioner for Works, Hon. Dakuku Peterside, over his attempt to ensure that no road construction in the state ended half-way, as he called on the concerned authority to ensure that a public spirited man was appointed as Commissioner for Works.
