Enymiba, Heartland Tango In Aba, Today
It is another day for the derby clash between Enyimba International of Aba and Heartland of Owerri in the Nigeria Premier League
The Enyimba International Stadium, Aba will be the venue as the Oriental Brothers tango in a week 16 rescheduled game, each determined to secure the maximum points at stake.
Both teams have been in an unfamiliar positions on the league table so far this season, occupying mid table placements, courtesy of indifferent beginning to the season.
So, they must all go out in search of victory to claim three points to improve their league positions.
Smarting from Sunday’s 2-0 defeat of Congo’s St. Michel De Quenze in the CAF Champions League, Technical Adviser of Enyimba FC of Aba, Okey Emordi, says Heartland of Owerri will fall on Wednesday.
The teams will clash in Aba in the Week 16 mid-week fixture in the premier league.
Enyimba is currently occupying the eight position with 22 points on the league table, while Heartland is 11th with 20 points.
“We have the opportunity to win the league with our current form and no team, not even Heartland will stop this ambition,’’ Emordi told Tidesports source in Aba on Monday.
He said that the game between the two archrivals would be explosive but that Enyimba stood a better chance to triumph over Heartland.
Emordi said the three straight wins in the league and victory over St. Michel de Quenze of Congo, both home and away, had helped to sharpen the players’ skills.
“We do not want to lose points again in the remaining home and away matches in the league because we have quality players who can stand any opposition,’’ he said.
He commended the state government for its intervention in the players’ financial problems that affected their past performances.
