Amaechi Leads AIDs Campaign Walk, Today

As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to mark the 2010 World Acquire Immune Deficiency Syndrome Day, wife of the Rives State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi will today lead an AIDS awareness walk in the state capital,  Port Harcourt to commemorate the 2010 World AIDS Day.

Dame Amaechi AIDS walk will begin in the Rivers State College of Arts and Science, Rumuola and terminate  at Model Primary  Health Centre Rumuepirikom.

The AIDS awareness walk is intended to intensify campaign on the disease and enlighten the populace on the need to show love to people living with HIV/AIDS and not to discriminate against them.

The first lady will also commission a health care facility at Rumueprikom in the state government 60-60-60 health project.

The first of December is observed annually world wide as World AIDS Day to remind nations on the outbreak and ills of HIV and AIDs. The theme of the 2010 edition is “Universal Access and Human Rights”.
