Group Wants Stronger Democratic Bodies
A Niger Delta-based religious organization: One Body Evangelistic Association has urged for the restructuring and strengthening of all democratic institutions, including the civil society groups in the country.
The Coordinator of the Association, Pastor Jack P. Neveragain said this in his eight point Agenda during the rally by the One Body Evangelistic Church Nkoro Town to mark Nigeria’s Golden Jubilee Anniversary.
The Association which also urged for reforms at the public service and institutions stressed the need for Nigeria to appropriate leadership position in world affairs and politics walking with America, United Kingdom and other world powers.
It further stressed the need for Nigerians to see this year of Jubilee as a year to return to God in truth, righteousness and honour a year to restore the original power, authority position, status and crown and a year to rebuild all that was destroyed in the name of nation building.
Meanwhile, the Association is set to sponsor a private bill to stop the use of Naija for Nigeria in official functions of Nigeria and even in all public places. Pastor Neveragain described Naija as an aberration.
“Nigeria is the word and word. let no one bastardise or derogates the Nigerian’s name.
“Naija the aberrant form of Nigeria should be withdrawn in circulation in Nigeria by an Act of parliament forthwith”, he said.
According to him, Naija in the spiritual realm connotes bad wardens and underdevelopment stressing that Nigeria was spiritually bound to lead the black race.
He also urged the nation’s leadership to be focused, stressing that the interest of the nation should be put above personal interest.
Pastor Neveragain said that the one Body Church which was founded in 1954 is happy to identify with Nigeria’s Golden Jubilee celebration.
