A’Ibom Top Civil Servants To Get Incentives
Akwa Ibom Government has announced incentives for top ranking civil servants of the state origin wishing to transfer their service to the Federal Civil Service, Abuja.
Governor Godswill Akpabio made the offer on Monday in Uyo at the swearing-in of 11 Permanent Secretaries and the State Chairman of Internal Revenue Service.
Akpabio announced that any transferred officer would be entitled to N5 million transport bonus and a five-year free accommodation in Abuja.
He said that it had become necessary to encourage indigenes of the state to join the Federal Civil Service at the directorate level.
Akpabio urged the new permanent secretaries to resist the temptation of resting on their oars by assuming they had reached the apogee of the service.
“You arrived at this important point in your careers by dint of hard work, diligence and devotion to duty.
‘’These attributes are more important in your present positions because you are now in the domain of public visibility and trust.
“Your experiences and strong set of skills acquired over the years of meritorious services to our state should be of inestimable value to this administration,” Akpabio said.
