Super Eagles Need Total Overhauling – Coach
Following the poor performance of Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the on-going 2010 FIFA World Cup in South-Africa, Rivers State Football Coach, Tony Chuku, has called for the total overhaul of the team.
The Eagles crashed out of the first world cup on African continent in the first round.
Eagles played three games, lost two and drew one in Group B.
According to the coach, in an interview on Wednesday, in Port Harcourt, Lars Lager back should not be blamed for the failure tasked the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to expedite action in ensuring that team is properly over hauled.
He continued that the NFF, should inject young talented players to form the nucleus of the new team.
“I think that the current Eagles are not only old but not committed to the game as could be seen from their approach to the games”, he remarked.
He wondered why the coach would be blamed when the Eagles players had not less than four begging scoring chances in the game against South-Korea and were unable to convert one.
“I still maintain that the exit of Eagles from the on-going World Cup in South Africa is not Lager back’s fault but the player’s, who were very casual and hardly committed to the assignment.
