Ex-MILAD Defects To PPA

A former Military Administrator of Cross River, retired Navy Capt. Christopher Osondu, and his supporters in Eluama, Isiukwato local government area of Abia, have defected to Progressives Peoples Alliance (PPA).

   Osondu, who joined PPA from PDP, told newsmen in an interview in his hometown that the move was to bring quality representation and good governance to his people.

“Quality representation at all levels has eluded us since the inception of the current democratic rule and good governance in our area has been intermittent and we have not got our fair share of democracy dividends,” Osondu said.

He said the people of Isiukwato were divided in their support for the government of the state, adding that, the situation had provided a strong base for those opposing the government.

“The statistics of our neglect in all spheres of life in terms of human and physical development are alarming but we will be at the threshold of a new era if we put our acts together.
