Shorunmu Calls For Support For Lagerback
Former Super Eagles goal keeper, Ike Shorunmu, has called on Nigerians to give maximum support to the technical adviser of the Eagles team, Lars Lagerback ahead of the 2010 world cup in South-Africa.
Speaking in an interview recently, the ex-international noted that Lagerback needs encouragement now, because he is building a new Eagles team.
According to him, there was no reason for some Nigerians to be bent on criticising Lagerback over his 44 man list for the world cup preparations.
“People should stop attacking Lagerback now as fans of other countries hardly criticise their own coaches. “Lagerback needs the support and blessings of Nigerians to enable him build a solid team that will put broad smiles on the faces of Nigerians,” the one time 3SC goal keeper affirmed.
He thus enjoined the Eagles players to show adequate commitment when the mundial in South Africa gets underway come June 11, this year.
“The Eagles should not underrate any team at the world cup, they should approach all their games with caution in order to achieve the desired result”, Shorunmu summed up.
