Uphold Dignity Of Labour, Perm Sec Urges Youths
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth Development, Mr. Dan Ibubeleye, has urged youths to make precious use of their time.
Mr. Ibubeleye made the call at the closing ceremony of the 2009 youths camping programme organised by the Ministry of Youth Development at the NYSC, Orientation Camp, Nonwa in Tai local government area of Rivers State.
Representing the Commissioner, Mr. Felix Nwaeke, Mr. Ibubeleye said time has come for every Rivers youth to assume a more positive approach to issues affecting their well-being.
The Permanent Secretary charged the participants to take advantage of programmes organised by government because they are geared toward developing them mentally and otherwise.
He expressed satisfaction with the participants noting that the programme which brought youths from various parts of the state was aimed at changing their mindset for future endeavours.
According to him, it has been government determination and willingness to train and re-train youths in various capacities so as to help them face future challenges.
In a related development, an Assistant Director in the Department of Youth Education and Counseling in the Ministry, Mrs. Ruhuoma Kejeh commended the participants for the inter-personal relationship that existed during the programme and advised them to maintain the tempo.
Responding, the participants expressed appreciation to the present administration and the Ministry of Youth Development for organising the programme and promised to be good ambassadors of the state and the nation.
The event witnessed award of certificates, dance drama, talk shows, and symposia.
