Odum Lauds R/S Sanitation Boss Over Sports Sponsorship
The chairman of Rivers State Environmental Sanitation Authority, Chief Nnamdi Wokekoro has been commended over his philanthropic gesture, especially sports sponsorship in the state.
Hon. Thomas Odum made the commendation following his contributions in the just-concluded Six-Aside football cup competition among thirteen families in Orogbum community, Rebisi Kingdom aimed at fostering unity in the area
Odum said the gesture is a move that had succeeded in bringing the youths of Orogbun community together.
He called on others in exalted positions to emulate Wokekoro and come up to sponsor football tournament at the grassroots level.
“There is no gainsaying the fact that the lofty idea of Wokekoro in sponsoring Orogbum Unity Cup Soccer Competition in memory of his late father, Chief Ezekiel Wokekoro has gone a long way in keeping the youths in the area busy and away from anti-social vices all through the tournament,” he said.
He expressed satisfaction over the overwhelming support given to the tournament by the people of Orogbum Community, and noted that good potentials capable of fitting into big clubs abound in the area.
Hon. Odum ‘who is the National Director, Media and Publicity, South-South Youth Assembly, advised the youths of Orogbum not to lose focus in sports, noting that their future lies in their hands.
