Proprietor harps on moral upbringing of students

An appeal has gone to parents in Rivers State to see themselves as partner in the Crusade to promote good moral value among youths in the state.
The proprietor of Chilex Group of school in Port Harcourt, Mr. Alex Ellah made the call in an exclusive interview with the weekend Tide in Port Harcourt recently.
Mr. Ellah said parents could achieve this by teaching children the basic values that will help them to be responsible leaders of tomorrow.
According to him, time has come for parents to invest their time and energy in teaching of sound moral doctrine so as to save the children from moral decay which are eating deep into the fabric of youths.
He attributed high rate of crime and moral decay in the society to the inability of some parents and guardian to discharged their responsibilities.
The educationist lamented that few parents today spent few time teaching their children the basic principal of life anchored on respect, trust and accountability
Commenting on the death of reading culture among youths, the educationist noted that the development was responsible for the poor performances of some students in West African school Certificate Examination in recent times.
He used the opportunity to command the vision of Rivers State Government, to provide text books for students to enhance their reading and writing ability.
